The Studio: Today and Projects
How to read the Studio's Today page and use the Projects list — the architect's home for every design project.
The Studio: Today and Projects
The Studio is the architect's home in Ofivio AEC. An architect's account opens with it, and every design project the practice runs lives here: you start projects here, open them from here, and come back here to see the whole practice at once. Everyone who works on the projects can open the Studio. Creating a project and the Agreements tab belong to the principal, and money is shown only to people who have access to it.
Today is the practice at a glance, drawn like My Board. Read it from the top down.
- Open the Studio — In the Departments column press "Studio". It opens on "Today".
- Read the three numbers across the top — "Live projects" counts the projects still running, names the next deadline, and splits them into on time and late. "Deliverables" is a ring of accepted over promised: accepted, promised and in hand, and late. "Open tasks" counts every task not done and says how many deliverables are late across the practice; the small line beneath it is the open tasks that fell due over the last eight days.
- Work down "Needs you" — One list, worst first: tasks past their date, projects with late deliverables and, for people who see money, payments overdue. Click a row to open that project. When the list is long, "show the other …" takes you to the Projects tab.
- Check "Money" and "Activity" — With access to money you see "Money" — received, remaining, contracts and overdue across the live projects — and "Activity", the latest things that happened in the practice. Without it, "Activity" takes the money tile's place.
- Scan "Work" — Every live project, worst first: its client, deliverables accepted over promised, how many are late, its deadline, and a state of "LATE" or "ON TIME". Click a row to open the project.
The Projects tab is the practice's list of Studio projects, one card each. A card is a door into the project, with a few quick actions on it.
- Open the list — Press "Projects". "All Projects" shows how many there are, with a "Create project" button of its own.
- Read a card — The name, a "Design" or "Turnkey" badge, and the client. Under it, deliverables accepted over promised with any late count and a percentage. Then the money: "Revenue", "Collected", "Outstanding", the milestones paid, and either "Overdue" or an estimated margin. A project with no payment schedule yet says "No financial data yet". At the foot: its status and its tasks done.
- Link the client from the card — A project with no client shows "Assign client" under its name. Press it, search, pick the client and press "Assign Client". The list shows clients who have their own client login.
- Use the icons on the card — From the left: assign the team and set their access; "Complete summary", every section, downloadable as PDF; reset the project (principal only — you type reset project to confirm); archive it to the Store Room, where it can be restored; and delete it forever, after a question. Click the arrow, or anywhere else on the card, to open the project.
